Wife Allegedly Stabs Kenyan Police Officer to Death for Returning Home Late

A tragic incident unfolded in Kiplombe, Baringo County, Kenya, where a police officer was reportedly stabbed to death by his wife due to his late arrival home.

Confirming the incident, Baringo Police Commander Julius Kiragu stated that Officer Vincent Kipterim Kiprotich, aged 28 and attached to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) in Mandera County, was on leave at the time of the incident.

Kiragu explained that Kipterim allegedly faced a machete attack from his wife, ZamZam Bashir, aged 26, after returning home around 3 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Following the altercation, Bashir sought assistance from the deceased’s brother.

“The officer, who was on leave, returned home late, leading to a dispute that resulted in the fatal stabbing by his wife. He was rushed to Eldama Ravine Sub County Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries,” Kiragu reported.

The authorities have apprehended the woman, and an investigation into the matter has been initiated.

The deceased’s body has been transferred to Eldama Ravine Morgue, pending a postmortem examination.
