The 41-year-old Nollywood actress Ini Obong Edo has disclosed her reason for being unmarried.

She claimed that she hasn’t found true love, which is why she is still single.

The actress, Toke Makinwa, clarified that she is unable to be in a toxic relationship in a recent episode of her podcast.

“I am still single because all I want is someone who would truly love me,” she stated. That’s it. I’m not making excessive demands.

It’s not that I can’t see love. Being loved and loving someone are two entirely different things. You aren’t ready for a committed relationship, even if you love someone. I guess the reason I’m still single is that I can’t be in a relationship that is toxic.

“If you are unable to provide me with the shielding energy that enables me to honor you… I can’t be in a relationship with a man I don’t respect. We can’t be together if you can’t earn my respect. Since what’s the purpose? You have let yourself down when you reach the point where I start to treat you disrespectfully.

According to news reports, On November 29, 2008, Ini Edo wed Philip Ehiagwina, an American businessman.

After five years together, the couple divorced in 2013.

The actress made her first child’s arrival—a girl born via surrogacy—public in 2021.
