Speaker Abbas denounces murders in the Plateau

Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has strongly denounced the senseless attacks on communities on Christmas Eve in the Plateau State local government areas of Barkin-Ladi and Bokkos.

Speaking at the time, Speaker Abbas said that the number of deaths was “too many,” characterizing the attack as heinous and barbaric.

He expressed concern over the pattern of attacks by bandits, gunmen, and other criminals that result in the deaths of innocent Nigerians.

Abbas tasked the intelligence and security services with preventing additional casualties and property damage in the Plateau and other regions of the nation.

Additionally, he asked them to track down, capture, and bring charges against the people who carried out the heinous deed.

Speaker Abbas declared, “This trend must stop forthwith. Nigeria has recorded too many losses of lives and property under attacks.”

The Speaker prayed for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace and for their families to find comfort in their loss, while expressing sympathy to the people and government of Plateau State.
