Sanwo-Olu Receives AFCON Trophy, Charges Super Eagles To Go For Title In Cote d’Ivoire

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has charged the Super Eagles to go for a fourth title at the 2023 Africa Cup of countries.

Sanwo-olu, who received the AFCON trophy during its tour highlighted the city’s vibrant sports culture.

The Lagos State number one resident communicated trust in the capability of the Super Birds to arise champions in Cote d’Ivoire.

He highlighted the significance of legitimate planning and devotion in guaranteeing a heavenly exhibition on the worldwide stage.

“As Lagos State has the AFCON prize, it’s obviously a demonstration of our obligation to sports development,”Sanwo-olu composed on his X handle

We are a city pulsating with sports enthusiasm and we’re grateful to Visa and CAF for choosing Lagos for the trophy tour. Our support for sports development continues as the excitement builds for this prestigious tournament.

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group A with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau for the 2023 AFCON.

Jose Peseiro’s side will face Equatorial Guinea in their first game at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on January 14.
