The Borno State Police Command has apprehended eight individuals suspected of involvement in the killing of Dr. Kamar Abdulkadir, a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).

According to a report by LIB, Dr. Kamal was gruesomely murdered by unidentified assailants in his office at the university on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Daso Kenneth, informed journalists in Maiduguri on Monday about the arrests. He stated that upon receiving information about the incident, law enforcement swiftly acted and detained the eight suspects linked to the murder.

“We received a distress call regarding Dr. Kamal’s murder. It was confirmed that he was killed in his office, and his car was stolen by the perpetrators,” the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) remarked.

“Eight individuals have been arrested thus far and are currently under investigation to uncover those responsible for the crime,” he added.

The spokesperson urged for calm, assuring the public that the command was effectively managing the situation.
