Six individuals have been apprehended in connection with the tragic killing of renowned South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, widely known as AKA.

Reports indicate that AKA and his close friend, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motshoane, were fatally shot outside a restaurant in Durban in February 2023.

The suspects, accused of playing roles in the incident, are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, as announced by KwaZulu-Natal provincial police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi during a press briefing on Tuesday night. Mkhwanazi elaborated on the arrests and detailed how the suspects were implicated in the rapper’s murder, suggesting that AKA was targeted while Tibz was an unintended victim. He also indicated suspicions of financial motivation behind the crime.
