“I’m a secular musician; I sing for the devil,” declares Terry G
Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, famously known as Terry G, boldly proclaimed his allegiance to singing for “the devil,” emphasizing that secular musicians, including himself, don’t exalt God but rather the devil.
Speaking in a preview of the upcoming episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast circulating on social media, the ‘Akpako’ master asserted,
“I am a secular musician. I sing for the devil. We [secular musicians] sing for the devil, we praise the devil. We don’t glorify God.” Additionally, Terry G remarked on the evolving style of fellow artist Wizkid, suggesting that it might not resonate with all Nigerians, particularly those from his generation, attributing it partially to differences in education levels among his peers.
He remarked, “Wizkid’s music doesn’t always resonate with us. Many of us from my era are not highly educated.”
