Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, revealed that despite his extensive tenure in the movie industry, he has yet to receive any significant awards.

Despite this, he remains resolute and self-encouraged, emphasizing his commitment to staying focused.

Okanlawon expressed his perspective on awards, stating that while he would accept recognition if it came his way, he refuses to let awards define his worth.

In a recent interview with Hip TV, he shared, “I have never won any of the serious awards in Nigeria… If recognition or validation comes from somewhere else, I will take it graciously… Validation shouldn’t define you. If anything, my presence should validate an award, not the other way round.”
