Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has expressed keen interest in acquiring shares of the American multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate, The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney.

However, Musk stipulated that he would only proceed with the purchase if activist investor Nelson Peltz secured a seat on Disney’s board.

Peltz recently faced defeat in a challenge to Disney’s board, with the majority of stakeholders voting against him.

In response, Musk, who was recently appointed as Disney’s Chief Diversity Officer, voiced his support for Peltz, citing his impressive track record and potential contributions to the company.

Taking to his X handle, Musk wrote: “Nelson Peltz should undoubtedly join the Disney board! He possesses the expertise to enact positive reforms, enhance product quality, and prioritize shareholder interests, as demonstrated in his successful tenure at numerous other companies.

“Such a move would significantly elevate Disney’s stock value. Although I currently do not own any Disney shares, I would certainly consider purchasing them if Nelson were elected to the board.”
