In 2023, a number of famous people’s marriages and relationships went from being friendly to hostile.

Numerous high-profile marriages ended badly at the end of the year for a variety of reasons.

Several factors have been identified, including but not limited to feminism, emotional detachment, infidelity, domestic violence, and a lack of clearly defined gender roles.

Among the famous people whose marriages failed in 2023 are:

1. In January 2023, popular Yoruba actress Wunmi Toriola announced via an Instagram post that her marriage was ending.

The actress claimed that her ex-husband would constantly bring up her fame during arguments because he couldn’t handle it. She refuted claims that she was violent in the marriage as well.

2. Yomi Alore, also known as Yomi Gold, is a Yoruba actor and producer who announced the dissolution of his second marriage to Meenah in January.

The actor complimented his wife and accepted responsibility for their breakup. He went on to attribute the breakup to the union’s lack of love and affection. “Nobody should force love to die in a relationship,” he said.

3. The popular Yoruba actor Bolanle Ninalowo announced on Instagram in September that he and his wife Bunmi, who had been married for 17 years, were divorcing.

Ninalowo said, “A sad reality I prayed, nurtured, and worked tirelessly hard never to experience for the sake of all,” when she announced their split. My spouse and I have made the decision to part ways and are moving toward an irreversible divorce.

4. Veteran Nollywood actress Stella Damasus announced her divorce from husband Daniel Ademinokan in October.

The actress claims that she was given breakfast via YouTube and that her spouse has moved on to another woman.

5. In November, Isreal Afeare, also known as DMW, Davido’s logistics manager, announced on Instagram that he and his wife, Sheila Courage, were divorcing.

Despite his generosity during their marriage, Israel DMW accused his wife of being ingratitude. Sheila, he said, filed for divorce in August.

6. Well-known Yoruba actor Damola Olatunji once had a romantic relationship with his associate Bukola Awoyemi, also known as Arugba.

The actress accused her partner of infidelity, which he categorically denied, and announced their split on her Instagram page.

She further stated that although she had children with Olatunji, she was never married to him.
