A popular figure in Awka’s entertainment scene, Aiza Nwosu, known for his comedic acts and public service announcements, was involved in an accident on Friday morning.

Reports indicate that the accident also affected three bystanders who were waiting to board buses at the busy Aroma junction in Awka.

Nwosu enjoys significant popularity in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, often seen cruising in his vans equipped with loudspeakers blaring music throughout the city streets.

Occasionally, he would park his vehicle along the roadside, crank up the volume, and entertain passersby with his dance moves.

The incident occurred as Nwosu was driving from Aroma towards the Government House, inadvertently colliding with people waiting for buses at the junction.

According to an eyewitness, brake failure was cited as the cause of the crash, resulting in several individuals, including a tricycle rider, being swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Upon arrival at the accident scene, officials from the Awka Capital Territory Development Agency (ACTDA) were observed dismantling some of the music equipment attached to Nwosu’s vehicle to prevent vandalism.

Although bystanders declined to comment to journalists, an ACTDA representative mentioned being unable to provide details on the accident’s circumstances due to the suddenness of the emergency response.

He assured, however, that Nwosu was alive and receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

The road bore evidence of the collision, with shattered windshields strewn around Nwosu’s vehicle. Efforts were underway to tow the damaged vehicle to the ACTDA office as the situation unfolded.
