Anthony Joshua: Promoter Hearn says the British fighter will take on former UFC fighter Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

According to promoter Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua will face Francis Ngannou, a former UFC fighter, in Saudi Arabia.

In October, Ngannou lost his first fight as a professional boxer against Tyson Fury.

After defeating Otto Wallin, 34-year-old Joshua was scheduled to fight Deontay Wilder; however, the American’s defeat by Joseph Parker derailed their big fight.

“It’s a done deal,” Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou collide on a historic night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Hearn wrote on Friday on X.

Hearn stated that additional information about the fight would be released at a press conference in London on January 15th, although a date of March 9th has been suggested.

Ngannou, a 37-year-old heavyweight native of Cameroon, was placed 10th by the WBC after nearly shocking the organization.

The two were expected to enter the ring after the fight and declare a deal to fight at some point in early 2024, even though no contract had been signed.

When Fury and Oleksandr Usyk finally square off in Saudi Arabia on February 17, they will compete to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999.

The WBC title is held by British fighter Fury, 35, while the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles are held by Usyk, 36, of Ukraine.
