American singer and rapper, Rod Wave, has been arrested for possession of a firearm in Manatee County, Florida.

According to arrest records, the arrest occurred on Wednesday. The St. Petersburg Police Department, during a press conference following the arrest, alleged Rod Wave’s involvement in a gang-related shooting incident on March 31st outside Sonic Sports Bar in St. Petersburg, which left four bystanders injured.

St. Petersburg Police Chief, Mike Kovacsev, stated that three of the apprehended assailants, identified as Christopher Atkins, Keith Westby, and Kevontre Wesby, are allegedly linked to the Young Gangsters gang. Additionally, two more individuals are in the process of being arrested in connection with the incident.

However, Rod Wave’s attorneys, Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, have countered these allegations, asserting that the rapper was “arrested and detained with absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing.” In a statement shared on Instagram, the attorneys claimed that Rod Wave was not in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest.
