In Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, a mentally unstable man who was brought for deliverance in a church has been arrested for matching a worshipper during the deliverance service.

The worshiper allegedly received a deep cut from the man after he took a cutlass from the church altar. After being taken to the hospital immediately, the victim is responding to care.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, a spokesman for the state police command, confirmed the incident to reporters.

Based on preliminary information, the man of God began to pray and declared he could heal the madman. During a struggle with the pastor, other members, and witnesses while the prayers were still in progress, the insane man grabbed a cutlass from the altar and injured one of the members. In addition, the alleged mentally ill person has been admitted to the hospital for a mental health assessment and medication, and his family members are being questioned while in secure custody.
