The reason why Kevin Hart, the legendary comedian, will no longer host the Oscars has been revealed.

A theater full of A-listers is a tough room for comedians, according to the comedian who said he’s fine performing stand-up in crowded stadiums and arenas.

Using a variety of celebrities to cohost the ceremony throughout the evening, Kevin Hart told Sky News that the Oscars got it right one year—2019, the year he withdrew. That formula hasn’t been used again.

Given his extensive network of established relationships with the guests, he acknowledged that hosting award shows would be advantageous.
