Ibrahim Babangida, the former head of state of the Nigerian military, has stated that history will judge him for his service to Nigeria, emphasizing that he gave the nation his all in his service.

Speaking to reporters at his Minna, Niger State, hilltop home, the former Nigerian leader did acknowledge using both dialogue and coercion as leadership philosophies.

Upon being questioned about his accomplishments as Head of State, he stated, “I did my best to serve the country.”

“I had a decent rapport with the populace of the nation. Being well-travelled, I got to know the country better and had no issues with them.

I considered making friends across the nation to be one of my greatest accomplishments.

IBB, as he is commonly called, advised Nigerian youth to learn about their nation since they will be the leaders of the future.

As young people, you have the chance to learn about the nation, its people, and its culture. If you are able to do so or comprehend it, I believe that will largely prepare you for taking on the role of leader of the nation in the future.
