Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has unveiled plans for Anthony Joshua to face Tyson Fury later this year, with a caveat that Fury must first overcome Oleksandr Usyk.

Hearn made this revelation during a recent interview with Piers Morgan while discussing darts sensation Luke Littler.

The long-anticipated Battle of Britain clash between the heavyweight giants appears to be on the horizon after much speculation.

Joshua, fresh from his victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, is reportedly poised to unveil his next opponent soon.

“With the darts Championship happening in December and January, I anticipate Fury vs AJ taking place this year,” Hearn remarked confidently.

The highly anticipated showdown between Joshua and Fury was previously agreed upon but fell through as negotiations soured, leading Fury to face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout.

Meanwhile, Usyk’s unexpected victories over Joshua have added an intriguing twist to the heavyweight division.

“Everyone is eager for this fight. On August 12, Anthony Joshua will take on Dillion Whyte, followed by a clash with Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia. Then, it’s Tyson Fury’s turn,” Hearn stated.

Hearn criticized Fury’s decision to bypass the Usyk fight, which he deemed as the most significant bout in boxing, suggesting that Fury’s priorities lie primarily in financial gains.

In a candid assessment, Hearn emphasized that for Fury to cement his legacy as a boxing great, he must overcome both Usyk and Joshua, particularly highlighting the significance of defeating Usyk.
