President Bola Tinubu has given a nod for public universities captured in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS, to exit the payment platform.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Mamman Tahir, disclosed the information on Wednesday, shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.

Offering more explanations on the presidential directive, Minister of Information and National Orientation Muhammed Idris said: “Today, the universities and other tertiary institutions have gotten a very big relief from the integrated payroll and personnel information system

You will review that the college specialists and the others have been clamoring for the exception of the colleges and other tertiary organizations from this framework.

“Today, Committee has charitably endorsed that. This means proceeding, the colleges, similar to the Priest of Training has said, and other tertiary establishments, the polytechnics and universities of schooling, will be removed the IPPIS.

“What that implies in straightforward language is that the college specialists and other tertiary organizations will currently be paying their own work force from their own end as opposed to depending on the IPPIS.
