Ogun State Police Arrest Man for Fatally Assaulting Neighbor Over Goat Dispute

The Ogun State Police Command has detained Kolawole Akinsanya for his alleged involvement in the death of his neighbor, Lukmon Ajibola, in Ilepa, Ifo Local Government Area. The tragic incident occurred on Monday, February 5, around 8 p.m.

The altercation began when one of Ajibola’s goats strayed into Akinsanya’s compound and consumed dried yams. Enraged, Akinsanya fatally beat the goat. When Ajibola confronted him about the incident, an argument ensued, leading Akinsanya to reportedly summon hoodlums who attacked Ajibola.

Ajibola, a goat rearer supporting his motorcycle business, was found motionless by residents who rushed to his aid. He was initially taken to Zion Hospital in Ilepa and later transferred to the State Hospital in Otta, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Akinsanya was apprehended by the police, while the other assailants managed to flee the community. Omolola Odutola, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed Akinsanya’s arrest and stated that efforts were underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
