Private jet with VIPs on-board crash-lands in Ibadan

In Ibadan, Oyo State, a private jet carrying a number of prominent individuals, or VIPs, made an emergency landing.

According to Channels Television, firefighters and rescue personnel from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, or FAAN, arrived on the scene right away.

According to news reports, the same location saw a similar incident happen two months ago.

There were reportedly ten or so people on board the private jet, most of them were VIPs.

The aircraft made a crash landing at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan on Friday morning, according to a source who spoke with Channels.

The aircraft, bearing the registration number N580KR, veered into the adjacent bush instead of the runway.

“It was an Abuja-based private aircraft. Although it overshot the runway, it landed safely. There were no casualties, Carol Adekotujo, a spokesman for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), told Channels.
