A number of shocking disclosures concerning well-known pastors who were allegedly involved in sexual misconduct have occurred in Nigeria.

The following is a brief list of well-known Nigerian pastors who have allegedly been linked to sex scandals:

1. TB Joshua (2024)

The founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B., who passed away in 2021, has been charged with torturing and abusing several women.

Many people have testified that they saw acts of physical abuse or torture that they believe Joshua committed, such as beatings and shacklings of children.

A number of women have reported being sexually assaulted; some claim they were raped repeatedly and for an extended period of time inside the compound.

As a result of the alleged rapes, the church has also been accused of performing forced abortions; one woman claims to have had five of these procedures.

2. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo (2013, 2018)

Blogger Ese Walter accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), of having an affair in 2013.

2018 saw a public outcry after Busola Dakolo accused him of rape, which intensified the controversy. Pastor Biodun has not commented on the claims in spite of them.

3. Apostle Johnson Suleman (2017)

Stephanie Otobo made accusations against Omega Fire Ministries leader Apostle Johnson Suleman in 2017, claiming he had impregnated her.

Subsequently, Stephanie acknowledged receiving bribes from politicians to damage the pastor’s reputation. The controversy called into question Suleman’s standing as a lead with spiritual capabilities.
